The Physicians of 1960 Family Practice follow the recommendations of the American Cancer Society for a healthy lifestyle:
- Annual Physical including cholesterol, diabetes and blood
pressure evaluation.
- Baseline Mammogram at age 35, Mammograms are recommended every 2 years for women between the ages of 40-44. Annually for women over the age of 45.
- Annual Prostate Cancer Screening for men should beginat age 50. African American men are at higher risk and should begin screening at age 45.
- Colon Cancer Screening to include Colonoscopy should begin for men and women at age 50.
- Pneumococcal Vaccine for patients over age 65. At risk patients need to consult your doctor.
- Td every 10 years.
- Flu Vaccine yearly.
- HPV vaccine for girls age 9-26 to help prevent cervical cancer.
